Connect to device on local network from computer via wifi with WR802N in wireless router mode
I have a TL-WR802N that I'm trying to configure. I want people to be able to connect to a device on the local network with their phones/tablets via wifi. I also don't want people to have to manually set an IP address. When in AP mode, I can connect to the device (192.168.1.1) if and only if I set my phone's IP address to 192.168.x. AP mode has a DHCP server, but it only assigns IP addresses to devices on the local network, not on the wireless side.
If I put the WR802N in wireless router mode, DHCP works as expected and will assign IP addresses to my phone/tablet in the specified range. But when I try to ping 192.168.1.1 I get Destination Host Unreachable. Admittedly I don't know much about networking, but it seems like the router is separating the LAN network from the WLAN network? I tried static route lists, virtual server, and DMZ, but no luck on any of the above. I assume I'm doing something wrong in the routing or forwarding.
Any help would be much appreciated!!
