Satellite Deco (BE25) only using 2.4GHz for clients (hardwired to others via Cat 6 cables)
I have a 3 BE-25 decos in a daisy chain setup. The 2 satellites are hardwired via cat 6 cables.
I usually don't have problems with the first satellite. The backhaul connections it reports are Wired/5/2.4 to the main deco. The 2nd satellite which is connected to the first one was stuck in a state where it was reporting a backhaul connection to 1st Satellite deco (wired) and a wireless (2.4 only, no 5GHz) connection to the main deco, which is several walls away.
It was also only offering a 2.4GHz connection to clients, despite being connected directly with a cat 6 cable to the Sat 1 deco. Rebooting didn't fix the issue, it would continue to only establish only a 2.4GHz wireless backhaul connection to the main deco. Finally I reset it to factory defaults and added it back to the network, and it properly connected on all 3 modes (wired, 2.4/5) to the Sat 1 deco.
In the past, Sat 2 deco would occasionally flip it's wireless connections to the main deco, but speeds weren't affected. Dropping the 5GHz backhaul connection however made all clients flip to only 2.4GHz connections.
Is there something I can do to keep this stable? And not have to tinker or monitor it all the time? Any ideas?
