Cannot configure Deco XE75 as Access Point for AXE5400 Router
I have a large home with a TP-Link AXE5400 router providing 1Gb service. I have three Deco M9 Plus devices configured as APs and working fine. But these M9s cannot support 6E or the gigabit speed, which is actually only needed for a few devices. I purchased a Deco XE75 6E intending to configure it in AP mode to support 6E wireless on the network.
But I have been unable to successfully configure the XE75 in AP mode. It defaults to standalong router mode.
Although the documentation from TP-Link is modest to say the least, I have followed these steps:
1. Configure the XE75 for a new network, not connected to the internet.
2. Using the Deco app, go to the standalone XE75 network and under the advanced settings, configure the XE75 it for AP mode.
3. Connect the XE75 via ethernet to my AXE5400 router and boot up.
This is where I cannot go any further. Using the Deco app, I am unable find the new AP on the primary network.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks!
Bill
