Description

 

After updating the Deco M9 Plus Firmware to 1.8.1, some satellite units may no longer connect to the nearest Deco M9 Plus. For example, prior to firmware 1.8.1, a Deco X50-Outdoor would always automatically connect to the nearest Deco M9 Plus; however, after the firmware upgrade, the satellite Deco's signal is significantly weakened, and remains connected only to the main Deco — even with "Connection Preference" assigned to the nearest Deco M9 Plus.

 

 

Available Solution:

Why the heck hasn't TP-Link released a final fix for this issue??? They have known for a month. I am currently remote and can't fix this issue with the beta version since I am not connected to the network. This is ridiculous

I've been struggling with this issue for a month now. Does this beta require all M9s to be installed, including the central one?

Sorry about that when i saw your screenshot i assumed you were on the wrong forum as it happens alot. yes if your testing the beta software it should be installed on all your M9 plus units

Now that is very interesting. Never see a patch only apply via WiFi before, Feel up to testing something? Unplug the Ethernet cord from the "Sarai" unit and wait till it connects via wifi then go into the web app and try to install the beta firmware to it and then do a reboot

 

If the beta firmware stays after the reboot we will go from there

  @Danu2000 and at the same time, while the web interface has access to all 4 Decos, the app shows 3 of them as DISCONNECTED, but in reality they have a green LED and are active, as I can ping them.
