Model: Deco XE70 Pro
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version:

XE75 Pro V2, updates are far and few between, this version is out of sync with the XE75 V1. The latter has features that the newer and upgraded model doesn't have. This is ridiculous. I am looking into another manufacturer for a replacement since TP-Link is not responsive to customer and security concerns.

Well we can say since they are using a linux kernel, the kernel source must be released. They use openwrt under GPL they must release it or no longer use this source. Sony had this issue too before legal action was taken and forced there hand.

I want to let you know that you're not alone in your frustrations. I also have Deco units experiencing missing updates that older hardware versions of the same model receive. I created a video demonstrating this issue and submitted it to TP-Link to highlight the problem, along with a suggested solution for the firmware update.

I am currently trying to get TP-Link to get all models and hardware versions upgraded to platform 1.10.0, followed by updates to 1.11.0 and eventually 1.12.0, before new features or options are added. As of this post I haven't heard back from them if they are going to use this approach or not.

If your curious which platform you are on and what each platform offers for features see this link https://community.tp-link.com/us/home/kb/detail/412754

I voluntarily contribute to the forums to enhance my knowledge and to provide additional support, allowing the team more time to focus on updates and other priorities.

Through my experience assisting others, I have observed that even some support staff members may find it challenging to keep track of the various models and hardware versions of Deco devices.

For example, I have received two separate instructions via email support regarding how to enable auto-update on my Deco, despite having informed them that this feature is not supported by my specific model.

As I mentioned previously, I am uncertain whether my idea for the firmware will be implemented, but I can confirm that the team is attentive to feedback.

I shared my concerns regarding the volume of spam, and appropriate measures have been taken to address the issue.

Additionally, a moderator observed that I had recently instructed users to open support tickets and include a link to their forum posts. Building on this, the moderator created a functional template that users can fill out and submit to the support email to facilitate issue escalation to the development team.

I further suggested integrating this process as an option that moderators can enable, allowing automatic submission of the necessary information to support. The website team responded very positively to this idea.

In closing, please know that you are not alone. I am unsure if you have seen the current number of Deco models and the specific hardware versions for each model, so it may take some time for everything to be fully updated.

I unfortunately have 3 XE75 Pro V1s, 2 XE75 Pro V2s and an X50 Outdoor V1. All three of the devices are fully compatible on paper, but in actuality are completely incompatible with each other. Coming this Black Friday, I will be purchasing 3 Eero Pro 7s and an outdoor model and throwing out all my TP-Link hardware. Eero has 20+ updates per year and all models run on the same platform. This alone is worth so much. I’ve been operating a year with my V2s not equal to my V1s and I find this completely unacceptable. I don’t know what is happening at TP-Link, but they won’t be in business for long at this rate.

  @JohnnyBoy

There are so many versions of the XE75 Pro:

1, 1.60, 2, 2.60

Each version has a separate set of firmware updates, although it appears all 1.xx are the same and all 2.xx are the same.

Similar with the X50 Outdoor:

1, 1.60

Are they all set as Deco Mesh?  Can you remove the X50 and just use it as an Access Point?  (Curious if the set functions better this way because the X50 will limit all the XE75 Pros per TP-Link Mesh description/instructions...

I don't know if you would be interested in trouble shooting your issues but if you are which model is set up as your main unit? For best results it should be the newer of the models which in your case your main deco should be one of your XE75 pro units. You will want it to be one of the version 1 units because it will have more options than the V2 XE75 pro's

  @HelpFixDecoApp I thought the higher versions usually have more features/settings than the older ones.

  @HelpFixDecoApp

The main unit is XE75 Pro V2.6, the other two are XE75 V1.6, as recommended by TP-Link, and I am complaining that they do not update their different versions newest first and to the same firmware, the Pro model is on 1.2.14, and the non - Pro is on 1.4.5
