Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.1 Build 20241115 rel.24012(5553)

I just paid for the advanced parental controls for my Router and I installed the Tether App on my phone.  I was able to disallow and allow internet access to my 3 kids computers yesterday without issue.  I then setup a bed time rule from 10pm to 8am, and set a 6hr internet time limit in all of their profiles last night.  This morning at ~6am I disabled the internet on all three profiles before I left for work, since they are not allowed to use their computers until their chores and homework are done for the day.  (They are supposed to call me when their work is done & I activate the internet on their PCs)  .....I never got a call today.  When I got home I discovered all 3 kids have been playing their computers all day.  Upon checking the Tether App, and logging into my router, both say internet "paused" for all 3 profiles.   Whats going on, and how do I fix this???   Otherwise I want a refund for this non-functional waste of money service.

Thank you,

There are several things they can do to get past the controls.

Another poster reported that a power cycle of the router bypasses some of the controls.

they can also change the MAC address so the controls do not see them.

Some have reported that a VPN can be used to bypass some of the controls.
If your network has APs or Extenders and depending how they are used, they can get around some controls.

There may be other ways.

you need to find out what they are doing and plug that hole.

Depending on your model options, you may be able to put them on a guest network and use the guest network controls.

  @ArcherC8

Kids (three) aren't doing anything to bypass the system, this hasn't worked since day 1.

- Router has not been power cycled.

- PCs are hard wired to the LAN, and the kids Tablets are on the routers 5G WiFi (all devices are using static hardware MAC addresses.)

- There are no VPNs in use

- There are no APs or range extenders in use

Please help or tell me how to receive a refund for this non-functional service.
