Model: RE205
Hardware Version: V4
Firmware Version: 1.0.23

The S500 TP Link electrical switch and the L535 light bulb will not join the TP Link extender without extraordinary manipulation. Although the extender offers these devises a much better connection, they always connect to the weaker router signal than the stronger extender signal. The these devices can be forced to join the extender only by shutting down the router while leaving the extender up and running, then the router can be restarted. The extender has a "perfect" connection to the router through EasyMesh.

Hello@FixMacs ,

Thank you for contacting our community.

The following two factors determine roaming in a mesh network:

1. Client-side autonomous decision-making:
In a mesh architecture, end devices (such as mobile phones and laptops) autonomously trigger roaming based on parameters such as signal strength, bit error rate, and network load. Roaming algorithms vary between devices.

2. The key role of the 802.11r protocol:
Whether clients support 802.11r also affects roaming performance.
