Archer BE550 v1.6 hardware feel like a rip off since they released a v2.6..

I have a version 1.6 BE550 Archer WiFi 7 router..
I like it but the lack of firmware updates is bothering me..
the v2.0 and v2.6 routers for this model are getting updates.. but none in a while for my v1.6
What can I do????

As I stated I have a v1.6 BE550... even though it say its a v1.0 in the WebUI.
why or how would a firmware upgrade to v2.60 work correctly without bricking my router..
as I cannot afford a new one...

It is necessary to be cautious when performing manual firmware upgrades. You're doing great. Just as you stated, the firmware for BE550 V2/V2.6 is not compatible with your V1/V1.6 version.
As far as I can check, a new version of the official firmware will be released soon. Please be patient and regularly check for updates through the web GUI or the Tether App.

I check the firmware website daily and the Router's WebUI firmware updater once and a while...

I did the firmware upgrade already as of the time of that last post..
no real noticeable improvement as I don't remember the changelog.
this is often the case but there is no posting of the new firmware on the correct firmware webpage for the BE550...

@Melchior Thank you for replying.
New updates are generally made available every Friday on the US site. You may check it on this Friday.
A quote from the firmware release notes:
This update mainly introduces bug fixes and system optimizations.
New Features/Enhancements:
1. Optimized VPN Client function compatibility with third party OpenVPN Server.
2. Enhanced IPTV/VoIP compatibility.
Bug Fixes:
1. Fixed the bug that NO-IP DDNS cannot be bound correctly after restarting BE550v1.
2. Fixed the bug that the client of MLO Wi-Fi cannot be displayed in AP mode.
3. Fixed the bug that whitelist mode does not take effect in special cases.
4. Fixed the bug that in static IP dial-up, turning on IPTV will cause the WAN port to be unplugged, and dial-up fails then cannot access the Internet.
5. Fixed the bug that when using IPv6 in Static IP mode, the default route is missing in the routing table after restart.
6. Fixed the bug that the server uses L2TP VPN (no encryption), and the client cannot choose no encryption.
