I posted this before and it disappeared, so I am going to try one more time.

My C100 with subscription went offline after a short power failure.  The camera powers up faster than the wifi and it gives up connecting to the wifi before the wifi is back up.  I am using the C100 as a security camera to test out Tapo products, before I decide to expand to the better models.  I am a 1,000 miles from home and cannot physically reset it.  So the camera is useless right now for security.

I called customer support and they said basically that a different model of Tapo camera might not have this problem.  I asked which models have the problem and which ones dont and they were not able to tell me.

SO I would like to know if anyone knows which camera model(s) will recover from power failures and which one won't.

  @Horgad

Hi,
Typically, the Tapo cameras will keep trying to reconnect to the router's Wi-Fi after power comes back on; it won't give up on connecting to the Wi-Fi before the router is rebooted. The failure of the camera to reconnect to the router's Wi-Fi can be attributed to several factors, such as the router's Wi-Fi settings and environmental interference. It is difficult to pinpoint the exact cause of the issue from the info we have.

Since you are away from the camera now, you can try to reboot the router remotely to check if the camera will reconnect to it. If the camera works again, you can enable the camera's Auto Reboot feature to check if it improves the camera's performance.

Btw, you can see your previous post here.

Best Regards
