Troubleshooting Archer BE550v1 Wireless Clients Lose Internet in AP Mode After 1.1.3 Firmware Upgrade
The Article Applies to:
- Archer BE550v1 1.1.3 Build 20250421 rel.24697 (Official Firmware (AP Mode))
Please note, this issue only affects the BE550v1 while operating in AP mode; the behavior was not present in models running in their default (Router) Mode.
Description:
After upgrading the BE550v1 to the latest 1.1.3 official firmware, we have seen an increase in reports from users regarding their BE550 losing access to the internet while in AP Mode.
When connecting to the Archer with a wireless client, the internet may be lost, or the device may not be able to connect to the network.
Available Solution:
This behavior is not present on the 1.1.2 firmware, and the 1.1.3 version has been pulled from the official releases. A fix is already planned and should be released shortly (1.1.4). If you have already updated your router, use AP Mode, and are experiencing significant dropouts in internet connectivity, there are a few options to restore functionality until the official fix is released.
1. Reset and reconfigure the BE550v1, then configure it in AP mode, the AP Mode should then work as expected.
2. Downgrade back to 1.1.2 firmware (Available on Downloads Page).
