Deco BE11000 USB device setup
Deco BE11000 USB device setup
Hello. I am trying to attach a hard drive to the network using the USB port on my main deco. I have both mac and windows devices that I need to access data from so I currently have the drive setup as ExFAT. No drive specifications were provided so I don't know if this is correct. Upon plugging in the device to my router, I am able to access the drive but it has both a G and H drive within it. I have a 5 TB drive and the G drive has ~400 mb and the majority of my storage is in the H drive. I am able to edit the G drive but the H drive seems locked and I am not able to view nor add any folders/files to it. I need some assistance in getting this setup. I initially figured the drive might be an issue so I plugged in a flash drive to test with ExFAT and FAT32. In both instances, I only saw a G drive with ~400mb of storage when the drive itself was 128 GB. (I am accessing this device from a Mac, no windows devices currently available to test on)

Just FYI going to try to get tp-link to write up some kind of FAQ on how to get this to work because I don't think I've ever seen it work between a deco and any apple products, I got David invloved from the EN forum so we can see if we can figure this out :)

Hi, thank you very much for the APP logs.
It will be forwarded to the senior engineers for further assistance, which might take some time.
By the way, if you chose the smaller volume~400MB-G Drive as the Time Machine Disk on the Deco APP, then go back to the MacBook. Will you get the volume size of the H Drive(~ about 5TB), and be able to view most of the folders and files in the HDD Drive, since I wonder whether your issue is also a display error or something else.
Wait for your reply.
Best regards.

To get other devices on the LAN (not the Mac) you need to check the Deco App for USB Settings and then FTP (local) or FTP (via Internet).
For instance, my FTP (local) is how to access it via FTP, ftp://192.168.68.1:21 and the Internet is different too. Your setting values might be different.

Hey, I have tried setting the G drive as the Time Machine folder however it only shows MB worth of space, not TB. If I set the Time Machine to the H drive, then I can see the full volume however due to its formatting, this folder would only be visible on Mac and not all devices.

I have local ftp enabled and I have tried to access the folders through my phone however I am not able to see any folder other than the G drive if I connect it like this.
