Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.1 Build 20250808 rel.68172(5553)

After installing this firmware using the web UI a pop-up prompted me to change my password. I did not initiate a password change at anytime using the web UI. The pop-up displayed a 6 character password that I didn't initiate so I declined.

This router is only used for tp link cameras and only has an online connection when tethered to  cellular to initiate a time sync for the cameras.

BEWARE! This firmware.

Hello @Twosun ,

Thanks for contacting our community.

Has the router returned to stable operation? Has the abnormal password display reappeared?

If not, we suggest you continue to observe for a while. If it reappears, please record your screen or take a screenshot, and contact your local support with error message for further assistance.

The firmware was reflashed back to:

TL-WR1502X(US)_V1_1.1.0 Build 20250416

I have taken the router out of operation. I have ordered a competitors router to replace.

I have also reported this to my CISA representative in District 9.

The router when in use was in a remote location, the closest Wifi hotspot in use is 1000 meters away. At the time of the incident that hotspot was located in Northern California due to being installed in a Transport vehicle.

A cellular connection was initiated to check for updates on Tp-link cameras and the router indicated it had new firmware for download. Like I mentioned I use the router for camera time syncs. The mentioned firmware with the problem would not time sync with - use controlling device activated and when the password change prompt pop-up. I have never noticed a pop-up interface using the Web UI ever.
