Model: Archer AXE300
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

I purchased a Archer AXE300 from an online auction, the box had been opened but all the components and power supply was included. There is no physical damage and everything looks pristine apart from missing the optical 10Gb wan/lan port dummy plug.

When I try to setup the router it stays in the orange flashing LED stage,  flashes orange for awhile then goes a solid blue for 1-2 seconds then repeats. I've tried to factory reset it but it doesn't attempt to reset itself no matter how long you hold in the reset button. Any help is much appreciated, is there a way to save the router?

Things I've tried include

- Holding the factory reset button anywhere from 5 seconds to 2 minutes with no change.

- Holding the reset button in when power cycling the unit.

-Tried the TFTP method and couldn't get it to show any information.

Hello @J0MBI ,

Welcome to our community.

Here are some additional troubleshooting steps you can try:

1. Try a different power socket: Ensure that the router is connected to a stable power source. Sometimes power fluctuations can cause boot

2. Try a different power adapter: If you have access to another compatible power adapter (or can borrow one), test with that to rule out power adapter failure.

3. Attempt a hard reset one more time: Use a pin to press and hold the reset button for at least 15-20 seconds while the router is powered on. Wait to see if all lights come up momentarily, which would indicate the reset is taking effect.

However, given that you've already tried extensive troubleshooting including TFTP recovery (which is typically a last-resort recovery method), and the router remains unresponsive to reset attempts, this strongly suggests either corrupted firmware that cannot be recovered through normal means, or a hardware failure.

What's particularly worrying is that this device was purchased secondhand at an auction. If possible, I suggest you return the device as soon as possible.

Alternatively, It is recommended purchasing a brand new router with a full warranty service.
