Trying to setup as an internal network, but not as connecting to the internet
Monday
Model: Archer A6
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I am trying to setup up a church sound system using the Archer 6 a Wi-Fi for wireless devices to talk to each other. I can't figure out how to set up the router since the network won't be on the internet, just internall Wi-Fi for devices to connect wirelessly. None of the router setup instructions seem to deal with what I'm trying to set up.

Hello @Todd-N_1 ,

Here's how you can set it up:
1. Connect your computer to the router via Ethernet cable or Wi-Fi (the default Wi-Fi name looks like TP-Link_XXXX, with the password on the router's label)
2. Open a browser and go to http://tplinkwifi.net or http://192.168.0.1
3. Create an admin password when prompted
4. During the setup wizard, when it asks for internet connection type or tries to detect internet, you can either:
   • Skip the internet setup steps if possible, OR
   • Select any connection type and proceed • the router will work locally even if it shows "no internet"
5. Configure your Wi-Fi network name and password in the wireless settings
6. Your sound system devices can now connect to the router's Wi-Fi and communicate with each other on the local network

The router will create a local network (typically 192.168.0.x) that allows all connected devices to see and communicate with each other, even without internet access.
