Archer BE600 BE9700 - after 04-21-26 Firmware update 1.1.1-drops external SSD + reboots
Have an external 4TB SSD connected via USB port and has be3n working great for past 3 weeks.
Just this past week after the 1.1.1 Firmware update, the router drops the drive connection by presumably re-booting itself (all the indicator lights go out and then gradually come back on one by one). Have not changed any settings on the router. Have not changed nor added any software/devices/equipment etc.
Router is 3 weeks old, SSD is about 6 months old (tests good when connected to computer).
I just tested router again, I power cycled it off for about 5 min, re-started w/o usb attached and Router worked normally UNTIL I connected the USB drive. Within 1 Minute the router does the re-boot (it has done this THREE times just while I was typing this post! - every few minutes). Have tried a different cable and even a different ext SSD drive - no improvement.
This problem is new and noticed AFTER the 04/21/26 1.1.1 firmware auto-update!
All I am attempting to accomplish is to provide this External SSD drive to an app named: Infuse - to play videos on an Apple TV & iPhone (which worked flawlessly on my older Router that the BE9700 replaced). USB Media Sharing, SMB & Local fTP, Secure Sharing.
Plz provide a fix ASAP or this BE9700 Router is going back to Amazon!

@2DazeGone I'm seeing similar issues on my BE9500 (also recent firmware - Archer BE9500(US)_V1.6_1.1.1 Build 20260113).
Turning off SMB sharing seems to help with the rebooting when one particular client connects, but I'd like that functionality back.

Purchased a new TP-Link Archer AXE5400 (Costco) - came with firmware 1.0.1 and SMB / USB works great!
The connected SSD even SLEEPS when not in use (as desired). Working as expected.
No way am I updating the firmware to 1.1.1 - [have auto update turned OFF] seems like you guys really screwed this SMB/USB functionality up with latest firmware.
Not going to turn off SMB as that is a required feature. Returned the BE9700.
Please test updates more thoroughly before you release them.
If this happens again, I'm done with TP-Link products.
