I've just bouight an Archer C7 AC1750 and am trying to set it up as an access point. It's not connected to the internet yet as my internet modem is under the stairs in a cupboard, so that's probably why connecting over http://tplinkwifi.net doesn't work.

 

But I should be able to enter http://192.168.0.1 in my browser, shouldn't I? I've connected my laptop to the Archer C7's WiFi. The laptop's IP address is 192.168.0.100 and the default gateway is 192.168.0.1 and I can ping 192.168.0.1. But when I enter http://192.168.0.1 in a browser it times out so I can't get the admin UI to configure the thing. Very frustrating!

 

Can anybody offer any advice on how to get this to work?

Connect an Ethernet cable direct from your PC to the C7 and use 192.168.0.1. You may need to clear your history in your browser or even use a different browser. You can also try http://www.tplinklogin.net/ Also you can try to get to it using the Teather app.

@ArcherC8  thanks for the suggestions. I've managed to fix it - by doing a factory reset. Don't know why that worked but now I can connect to the admin UI.
