Model: Deco M5
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

I ordered my M5 from Amazon and got a "reconditoned" unit.  It came with the wrong power supply.  I've already reached out to support and they are shipping me a new one, but it will be a week till it gets here.  I need it ASAP.  Can someone give me the part number and possibly where I could order one quickly.  I've tried other USB C power supplies that I have and they did not work.  Thaks.

@JakeMyers

As long as the output equals 12v 1.2 amps then it should work.

The part number is the same for both V1 and V2: T120120-2B4

You just need to make sure the end connector is USB-C since you have V1.

@awsheeler

Contact your local TP-Link support team to request a replacement part like the original poster did on this thread.

@Tony

I am in a similar situation where I need a replacement power source for my Deco M5 Ver 1. I have a USB C cable with output 12v/1.2a and it does not power the Deco sufficitiently enough to turn it on. Also, the RMA support team does not have this item in stock and cannot replace it for me.

Can you provide a 3rd party option that I can use? I want to be able to use my Deco m5 without rendering it useless.

Thanks

@Alexvalen94

If your warranty is valid I would recommend following up with them for other replacement possibilities.

An alternative would be a power supply that has a USB-C connector with the specs: 100-240V~50/60Hz Input, Output: 5V 1.2A.

Strangely disconcerting that hours of searching have not brought up a way to get a replacement from TP-Link. The only replacement I found from Amazon was a liar - it was a universal power supply that said it included a USB-C end, but it did not. I contacted TP-Link support and they've sent 3 email replies asking for more information including serial number, invoice, etc. when all I am asking is where I can BUY a replacement (because mine sure isn't under warranty). I'll keep looking...

@DesertSky

Hi, Welcome to the community.

Actually, we do not have an authorized store that sold the accessories of our products individually, like power adapters and antennas.

If we had these accessories in stock, we will help customers replace them with the local warranty office directly.

I happened to see you also created a ticket with the local US support and was informed there was no stock for the power adapter of Deco M5 v1.

After checking with the senior engineers, if you bought a 12V/1A charging head with a good quality USB-type C cable, it could also be used to power Deco M5.

(But please note that the external power adapter sometimes might not perform as well as the original power adapter.)

Thank you very much for your understanding.
