Model: Archer C2300
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I bought two Archer C2300 routers, one is directly wired to the modem which broadcasts the SSIDs quite well but the signal degrades quickly on the other side of my home. Moving it is not an option, given that this is a very old home with two floors, and I can't run lines where I need them.

Primary router:

2.4ghz and 5ghz both use the same SSID.

IP: 192.168.0.1

Secondary router:

2.4ghz wireless active, broadcasting different SSID from primary

IP: 192.168.0.2

WDS enabled, I scanned for the primary SSID and used the correct password.

DHCP is set to off.

I can ping both 192.168.0.1 and 192.168.0.2 from my desktop.

The routers are in decent range to one another.

Advanced -> Status -> WDS status is disabled. Nothing I do will change that.

I've followed all documentation I can find, which has proven to be limited. Any ideas?

@danielbradburry

Make the primary router SSID names different, having the same name creates a headache for everything.

@Tony

Having the exact same issue, wifi names make no difference at all.
