Model: Deco S4
Hardware Version: V7
Firmware Version: latest

So my piece of sh!t deco S4R decided today that it would not operated as a wireless access point.  My router rebooted and all of sudden the deco refused any proposed IP address and would continue to ask for 172.27.35.20.  It is not connected directly to the modem.

I attempted to reset it, which is a cluster fu@k of unplug, press button, hope it comes up in reset, nope, unplug for two minutes, plug in press button hope it comes up in reset, nope, press reset again loop.

Once I got it to come up in setup mode it goes through the setup, of course it never does the logical thing and asks what mode it should be in, but defaults to router.  Go into advanced settings and choose "Access Point" for operation mode.  upon reboot it again refuses the DHCP offers and only asks for the 172 addres..

Anyone have an idea how to fix, besides buying another brand.

@Booger

Hi, Thank you very much for the feedback.

May I know the model number of your main router?

Is the IP address-172.27.35.20 of Deco S4 which assigned by the main router when they are working well together?

As for the network topology, is it like:

ISP---Main router----<wired>--main Deco S4~~<Wi-Fi>~~other two satellite units

would there be any network switch between the main router and main Deco S4? or any devices are connected to the second port of the main Deco S4?
