Deco E4 no internet connection
Deco E4 no internet connection
Hi team,
I have issues with my Deco E4. All my mobile phones and Macbook doesn't`t have problem, but my work windows 10 laptop is connected to the Deco network, but doesn't`t have internet connection. I saw old threads for different Deco models with similar issues and I tried to forget the network and connect again, but the issue still exists. It doesn't`t mater if I`m using DHCP or static IP
Do you have any suggestion for me?
Thanks in regards

Thanks for the update.
When there is only 5ghz enabled, if we temporarily set up the network security mode to be "none", would it make any difference?
I see the wireless adapter is Intel AC8265 and there are quite a few feedbacks about this adapter with 5GHz Wi-Fi over the internet.
And On the Intel website, I see there is one more driver available-20.70.30.1. maybe you could try to install the following driver:

Have you checked what is the IP address on windows 10(How to find IP address on your devices?) and are you able to ping the LAN IP of Deco-How to Use the Ping Command?
Does this laptop support an Ethernet connection?
if yes, will it work when connected to Deco via Ethernet cable?
By the way, did this laptop work with Deco before?

Hi David. Thanks for your reply. I will test tomorrow and will let you know.
Yes, the laptop supports Ethernet connection and it works fine. I`m using it as a workaround, until the issue is solved. No, this laptop has never been connected to Deco before

Sorry for the delay.
So far, the work windows 10 laptop is still connected to the wifi but no internet service when browsing the websites, right?
Could you please refer to this link to help me check the IP address on windows 10(How to find IP address on your devices?) and are you able to ping the LAN IP of Deco-How to Use the Ping Command?
And there are more suggestions for your reference:
1. make sure the driver of your wireless adapter is up to date.
2. turn off the "Mesh technology" for this laptop.

Thanks for the answer. I`m able to ping the Lan IP of DECO. See attached screenshot.
Unfortunately I`m not able to turn off the mesh topology, because the device is displayed as offline

Hi, Since the PC is able to get the correct IP and also be able to ping the gateway, I think the issue should be on the computer itself and have you checked whether there is a new wireless driver for the laptop?
I used to see someone change the DNS settings on the computer to use static IP settings and maybe you could have a try to see whether it made any difference:
IPv4 address: 192.168.68.101
subnet mask:255.255.255.0
gateway/router:192.168.68.1
DNS server:8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4
Best regards.

Thanks for the reply. The wireless card driver is up to date. The last screenshot which I sent during the ping is with manually set of IP address.

Hi David,
the issue still exists. I need one more set of mesh system for my village house, but I will try other brand if this issue is not solved

Sorry for the delay.
I checked the record and I noticed we haven't checked any settings on the blacklist yet. Could you please check whether you might accidentally more it to the blacklist?
By the way, since E4 has both 2.4ghz and 5ghz, if temporarily turning off 5ghz, leaving the 2.4ghz only on the Deco App, Would it make any difference?
And since only the windows 10 laptop did not work, have you tested it with another wireless network since I still doubt the computer itself might be the problem.
and I see the manually configured DNS on the laptop is 192.168.0.1/192.168.68.1, have you tried to change the DNS to 8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4?
May I know the model number of your windows 10 laptop and could you please refer to the last part of this FAQ to help me get the network adapter for the computer?

Thank you very much.

Hi David,
laptop is not in blacklist and is working fine with other wifi networks - both 2.4ghz and 5ghz.
Temporarily disabling the 5ghz is working. I think we were able to isolate the issue to the 5ghz band. Here screenshot of the settings
Here screenshot of the adapters
The lan card is with the latest drivers for it.
Do you have any idea how to make the 5ghz band working?

Vasil
