Hello Gals and Guys -

I bought a Mac Mini back in 2018, but had trouble with it because the WiFi card sits low in the chassis and as a result, the WiFi reception was subpar.  I looked for an inexpensive solution and found the TL-PA4010.  I basically plugged in and it worked great.  I'm not sure why, but my two desktops upstairs, a PC and Mac, have started to show slower speeds.  That reminded me of the great experience I had with the TL-PA4010, but it hasn't worked out as well this time.  I plugged in the adapters to the wall and my computers, then hit the pair button.  Both say they're connected to the network, but don't go on the internet.  I noticed my Mini from 2018 has the router address as the gateway, but neither of the computers upstairs does.  Is there something I can do to fix this?  Thanks for any help.

Hello   @Tedeye

It is recommended to  check if House led  are ON on the both powerline units

Try to pair manually: please  put 2 powerline unit in the wall sockets, in the same room, and pair them again :
Paring Note:  press Pair button only for 1 sec, Power Leds should be flashing on both powerline units in pairing process. ( if the Power Led does not blink, press it for 1 sec again)
When the Powerline Led or House Leds are on, the pairing process is done

FAQ: How to secure (pair) the Powerline Network?
-  Connect main powerline unit to router via Ethernet cable, and put powerline extender in another room

Note that ll the devices should get an IP address from router and use router's IP address as gateway, if that not the case, it is possible the power line unit are not paired.

May I know the model of your powerline device, is it TL-WPA4220 kit or TL-PA4010kit, only Wifi kit has a wireless extender to extend wifi signal . Please check FAQ here to tell the difference between Wifi & Wired powerline kit, : https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/1477/

Thanks Solla-topee. I appreciate the help. I press pair on either Powerlink adapter and I eventually get three lights on both, but they don't blink much and I get no connection via Ethernet. I noticed on the one that I have that works, it blink a lot more. On my other Mac when I go into the network properties, it says it has a self-assigned IP address and will not be able to connect to the internet. On my PC it says Ethernet is connected to an unidentified network and has no internet access. Thanks again.
