DHCP
I have both 2 ghz and 5 ghz wi fi and wired lan enabled along with Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol. I set starting address to 192,168,0,100 to 192,168,0,249 Address lease 1200
I have pretty much all on Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol
Four 2 ghz smart plugs
six or so 2 ghz Ring, generator, maybe Roku rarely used or is it 5 ghz?
Three 5 ghz two laptops, Kindle Fire, maybe two Alexa on it?, two phones
Three wired Roku, desktop and a desktop computer as a media center (this one is non Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol set to 192,168,0,3 if I recall).
The problem I have my wife uses her laptop once every few days or perhaps not very often. Sometimes when she turns it on, she cannot get to the internet. From what I remember, I tried pinging the router and it seemed like it would work, but pinging some valid site, it would not (it works from my desktop). I tried rebooting and the old ipconfig release and renew, but that didn't work. Her previous laptop did this. I even had a USB 5 ghz antenna and tried that on both old laptop and new, but still same results. I also tried manual ip assignment, but that resulted in issues too. It's Windows 11 (prior was Win 10)... She is about 20 feet away through two walls. The generator is the furthest and works ok on 2 ghz network.
Maybe I need a lower address lease? Maybe reboot router daily? Any other ideas?
