I only have a pair of AV2000's (TL-PA9020P) hooked up to a 3rd party AP. The tpPLC app doesn't see them. I'm guessing, the tpPLC app is only for wifi-extenders? Although the manual has a pointer to the tpPLC app.

The tpPLC app is meant for our powerline products, while the Tether App is used for APs and Routers. I believe that you still need to add the devices to the tpPLC app via their Powerline Key, which is located on the back of the devices. I would also make sure that the adapter is able to reconnect to the internet before attempting to add the device to the tpPLC app as it does require an active internet connection.
