I just purchased and installed the X55 Deco. Installed direct connect, everything worked great for the day. While I was working out, internet went out. I did some basic troubleshooting, no joy. So I thought to put my Verizon router in the loop. The system has been running strong all day.
I really wanted to use the Deco but can't figure out why it stopped working. I really don't like the verizon router.
ANY IDEAS??
it sounds like the deco is not successfully obtaining an IP address from Verizon via DHCP.
Is the deco's internet connection set to "Dynamic IP"?
Additionally, before you switch the wan cable from the verizon device to the X55, you need to release the dhcp lease on the verizon WAN connection from the verizon router's settings interface (I don't know where exactly this setting is, but if you provide the model of the verizon router I might be able to check its manual).
