Model: Archer AX5400 Pro
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.1.0 Build 20240323 rel.70541(4555)

Dear customer support service, TP Link community,

I have installed an Archer AX5400 Pro in my small company office yesterday.

I have bought because I have seen he has the two main features I was looking for:

 - Access Control

 - Public wifi

I would like to provide a non secured public wifi for my employees/customers personal devices.

But I would like to have a strict management of my office LAN...

And it seems not to be possible with the current firmware.

Why enabling Access Control on the Guest Wifi ?

The principle of having a 'Guest' network should be to have to separated managements.

If I have to add every guest MAC address in the whitelist, all my employees will be able to connect their personal devices to the private network...

I am quite sure they can find the WiFi password in their company laptops... Even without admin rights.

I am not against managing a whitelist for the Guest Wifi.
It could help to maintain even more security.
But mixing private and guest whitelist is a non sense to me.

Does TP-Link have a solution or a firmware update to get a separated whitelist management for this device ?

Thanks in advance & Best regards.

Evan

  @Scoffield

This has been a topic several times.

I for one want the extra security and require white list on the guest network.

it has been requested that there be a switch added to the guest controls so you can pick. Have not seen it yet.

Not sure if a VLAN would work for your network.

  @ArcherC8

Thanks for your reply.
I have seen the other threads.
But I did not see much feedback from TPLink.

I am not against having a whitelist for the guest network.

I just want my guests not being granted to connect my private network if they find the password...

I will investigate other options but I have bought this router just for this...

Thanks
