Firmware updates for Deco XE5300?

Model: Deco XE5300
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.2.9 Build 20240724 Rel. 39578

I recently purchased this mesh network setup (from Costco, hence the weird number) to replace a busted Orbi network. Based on my incomplete reading of the tp-link website, I expected them to be capable of doing app-based parental controls (namely time limits), but that feature is not available at the current firmware version. Additionally, I was not expecting the 6GHz to be on a separate network, but that's not really that big of a deal, other than the fact that that network is _not_ protected by parental controls.

The question is, then, whether I can expect to see the newer firmware on these units at some point in the (relatively) near future, or would it just make sense to return these and replace them with the XE11000, which has the features I want now?

Bumping this. I'm trying to figure out if I should return this system in favor of a BE11000 from Costco (before the sale is over!)

  @KendotC

You don't have to keep the 6GHz network unique, you can give it the same SSID as the 2.4/5 network; but it will make that entire SSID operate under WPA3 which will likely break your IOT devices (smart plugs, bulbs, etc.) If you move them (smart devices) to the IOT network that's available they can continue to be WPA2 but you might have some odd devices not conecting properly between the two SSIDs. Since I only have one device in-house that can even use 6Ghz, I just left it off and the Deco makes that frequency the dedicate backhaul. The software on the BE11000 behaves the same. I ended up with the AXE5300 instead of the BE11000 based on cost savings (150 dollars) and the fact that my ISP maxes out at 1Gb so 2.5Gb or 5Gb ports are of no use. I went over 5 years using Deco M9 plus units (also from Costco) and I expect the XE5300s will probably be more than enough for just as long unless there is a dramatic change in Wi-Fi technology.

I use my Decos and Access Point mode, so I can't help with the Parental Control software since it is disabled in AP mode.

  @troy_s I discovered that a couple of days ago! I'm not sure _how_ it works, but it does...

That said, I also purchased the BE11000 set that evening. I installed it today, and did apples to apples speedtest runs on the XE5300s vs the BE11000s. The BE11000s were much better, especially on the satellites, and they have the parental controls I've been looking for. I'll be returning the XE5300s.

Mind, I still think the XE5300s are pretty good, but I need those extra features on the BE11000s.
