First thing I would do is disconnect the RE450 and see if the problem goes away.

There are extensions for Firefox that allow you to see the password that you can install. Some require a mouse over. Do not know if it would work, have you tried to cut and paste the password?

By reset, I assume you mean a factory reset, if not try that. Be sure you are using the power adapter that came with the router. Try a different Ethernet cable. Otherwise, my thinking is like yours...
