What is the speed when stable for both close and when in the other room? Then what are the speeds when it is unstable in both places? What kind of device (PC, tablet, ?) are you using?

IMHO if you are not in a high traffic area such as an apartment where a lot of others can see your WIFI signal, it should be fine. Do use a strong password and change it from time to time.
