My first thought is that you are not getting an IP address on the WAN which is somewhat common. See the post "My new router is not obtaining an IP address from my cable modem"

I would do a factory reset, and do the install again. Then check to see if you have an IP address in the WAN. If not, follow the post "My new router is not obtaining an IP address from my cable modem"

Most common issue is to put the extender in the trouble area. Be sure to locate it within good WIFI range of the router such as the mid point between the router and the troubled area.
