@ManhattanMarc Those mW numbers check out when using a converter. I've seen a couple of cases wherein lowering the power, better performance was achieved. Not every time, but it has worked before.

@meryck All environments are different so it is hard to say exactly what you will get. I have seen AV2000 powerline adapters do 200+ Mbps and also do 80 Mbps. The TL-WPA8635 looks to be a model sold...

@Tiktaalik I think you found it, the adapter keeps connecting to the 2.4Ghz while others are on the 5GHz. Try and see if you can modify the properties of the adapter to make it connect to the 5GHz...
