Smart Switches Disconnecting
I've had TP-Link smart switches and plugs for the last 5 years and never had an issue. I recently updated the firmware on my router (Asus GT-AX11000) and updated my iPhone's IOS to 15 and nothing but problems. Switches and plugs w/ Hardware V1 connect and disconnect constantly throughout the day. I've done factory reset on all switches and even on my router and still same issue. Anyone else experiencing this issue?

This is a problem with many (but not all) TP-Link Kasa devices on the latest Asus firmware as well as with the latest Merlin firmware (which uses the Asus wireless code as-is). You can work around this problem by setting Wireless > General > Band: 2.4 GHz > Wireless Mode: Legacy
Note that this mode may slow down your other non-Kasa devices on 2.4 GHz, so YMMV. You just have to test and see if it's a good work around for you or not.

@CLK Thank you for the nice sharing, I will make it as solution temporarily and see if that workaround helps.

Thank you. I agree with others that it appears KASA will need to release a firmware update givien it looks like the porblem manifested itself after ASUS's most recent firmware addressed several wireless vulnerabilities. Running 2.4GHZ in WIFI legacy mode is not a solution for many of us given the performance degradation for the band and the fact other devices utilize it.
I have the same problems: See my post @ https://community.tp-link.com/us/smart-home/forum/topic/519922?page=1 .

Great to see more people having this issue so I feel less crazy lol, I'll monitor your thread as well :)
For me running the router with 2.4GHz Legacy didn't work for me.
So far again after more than 24 hours.. all my tp-link work great with the latest firmware from asus (January 5th) for my router AX58U.
Not sure if it's just a coincidence but for further testing, I will flash to another firmware and see if I can recreate the issue again and I Will come back to the latest firmware see if it works again.

I no longer think that ASUS firmware is causing the WIFI disconnect issues. I was having issues as well but today I tried a newer KL130 bulb and it works fine with the new firmware. It seems to me that TPLINK needs to update the firmware on older devices. I have a lot of smart devices in my home and the only ones I've had problems with after the latest ASUS firmware date is the older devices (LB110, KL120, and HS105).

Hi Jthatcher, Glad to see someone else with an AX88U having similar problems. Downgrading the router firmware to the older version worked for me. Another alternative is to run the 2.4ghz radio in legacy mode. I had no problems with my switch’s but all my old bulbs (LB110s, and KL120) were acting up.
Just yesterday I tried a newer bulb (KL130) with the latest firmware and no issues. Looks like TPLINK needs a firmware update on older devices. I think the problem is that ASUS closed a bunch of WPA vulnerabilities in August Version 3.0.0.4.386.45375 (read release notes) and older bulb hardware needs new software to work now. I’ve been using ASUS routers since 2010 with no issues other than TPLINK devices. -Mike
