Hello!

I am certain this has been brought up a million times but I can't seem to get my new HS200 switch to connect to my wifi. I have tried a hard reset on the switch, rebooting my router, separated my 5.0 and 2.4 networks, turned off any VPN's and I just can't seem to get it to connect. The switch is only a few feet from my router and I've never had an issue connecting anything else to my gig speed network. Anyone have ANY other ideas? I have tried everything I could look up on here. My network type is WPA2. Any help or advice is appreciated!

Hello @mascenzi

Thank you for your detailed post, we have an instruction that might be able to some help, please check Case 4- Step 3-5.

Note: please confirm router's Wi-Fi password is correct during kasa set up process , or set up or pair will fail

If router is a Mesh system, try to temporarily turn mesh off

If the concern persists, can you help confirm some details here as we may need to escalate the case:

1. Model of Wi-Fi router

(attach a photo of router's wireless settings if possible)

2. Does smart device connect to router directly or through extender?

3. Model of your phone and Andriod or IOS version

4. A photo of the error message on Kasa app

Thanks!

@Solla-topee

hello! My network is already set under Wpa2+aes but unfortunately I don't know hot to change the router channels. I turned the mesh off and made the Wi-Fi's separate already. Smart device connects to router. I am running an iPhone 13 pro on iOS 15.1. Below is the error I keep getting after the connection on the switch blinks green only for a minute or so then goes back to green/orange rotation.

So I am not sure what happened, but I went to bed last night and woke up and tried to connect it and it worked. I did nothing different so I don't have a real answer if this pops up for anyone else but glad it worked!

@mascenzi : It is terrible from tp-link software. I did many times this installation and most of the problems are network. If you check everything is fine, but can't connect to wifi that is due to network. There are several issues, in my case, for example the HS200 broadcasting a wifi, but it's IP address is not the same my router ip range. the hs200 ip is alway 192.168.0.xxx, 255.255.255.0; 192.168.0.1; my router is 192.168.68.xxx, 255.255.252.0; 192.168.68.1 Now you can see the difference is 0 and 68; 255 and 252. The easy solution is to change router ip address. I went to router LAN, and change from 192.168.68.xxx to 192.168.0.1. This solveed the problem for HS200, or HS103.... not connecting to wifi. Please take note when you connect to tplink, please try to connect manually your phone to tplink  wifi during processing just to make sure tplink device connected to your phone and it will immediately display your wifi network available for selection.Hope this will be helpful.

Hello @David_Hoang_560 that does not sound a common fix but thank you for your sharing. TP-link Smart XXX SSID (no internet access) will give phone an IP address in 192.168.0.X subnet, this is to allow kasa app / phone to find Smart device in setup process, after smart devices connects to router's Wi-Fi, this SSID will be gone, and smart device get IP from router. Router should be able to use its own IP address/ subnet.
