The KS230 'Auto dim' has been fixed on the new firmware, please set up Kasa switch in the APP and at the end of setup process app will do a firmware update, let us know if that helps with the concern. Please confirm Kasa APP and Kasa device firmware on are both up to date. Hope this helps!
Turns out, I didn't have the latest firmware. The app didn't show a firmware upgrade was available, so i reset the switch, went through and failed the calbibration, but continued, then was prompted to update the firmware, and it seems to work now.
