KP200 ground wire

Hello, having a 60' house problem here. Does the KP200 Smart Outlet require a ground in order to operate properly? Cheers.

It can be unsafe to install a 3- pronged wall outlet Without a ground wire, please consult an electrician for some professional suggestions when there is no ground wire like suggested in the video here:

In user guide Warning part, it also mentioned DO NOT remove ground pin ( middle pin ) or use with 3-to 2-prong adapter when using KP200.

@Solla-topee Thank you for the info. I'm aware of the safety aspects of properly grounded outlets. However that was not my question. It is not possible to add ground wires to the outlets in my house. However my question was "would the KP200 function without a ground wire installed to the outlet ?"
