Light switch install problem
Hello I purchased a new HS200 switch to replace this old timer switch shown in photo. Im not sure what to do since the colors are diferent from the kasa switch. The kasa has 2 blacks. Should I twist both blacks together and connect them to the hot black wire going into wall? The switch on the far right I am not sure what it is or does. Its never worked, and as far as I can tell, doesnt turn on other lights . The middle switch is for a table lamp, and the far left one that I am replacing is for two front porch lights. Thank you.

Yes, enclosed is a photo. Note the timer for my porchlights is on the left. The middle switch runs a table lamp, and the switch on far right is what runs nothing. If that right switch its turned on or off, the lamplight and the timer works perfectly. I really dont see what purpose that right switch has. I even tried other light switches, and it doesnt effect them. The far left timer switch is where I put the Kasa. Its now on a single switch, and still works perfectly. Turns on and off instantly ,tested it like 50 times or more. I wish I knew how to completly isolate that far right switch.
When I mentioned the two black wires when I asked how to install the kasa, maybe I should have reveresed them? and tested it out?
Below photo of the single switch is the kasa where it is now placed, for a chandelier.

I see. So That isn't a 3-way but a 3-DIMM. Sorry, when I saw you say 3-switches controlling I thought you were referring to a setup that has multiple switches that control the same lights.
For this setup, it is likely just 3 regular switches. My engineers did get back and they indicated that this error occurs when the APP fails to request device information.
Generally speaking, the request failure may be caused by the offline device or the poor mobile network. I can't really say if this is the case or not. What I can do is tag two very knowledgeable community users @B.Will and @DEcosse. Both of these users are very knowledgeable about electrical and switch setups and have provided me with assistance in the past. Would either of you be able to chime in on this concern? in summary, the switch box appears to be a Single-Pole with a neutral, ground and line, and load wires (1 black 1 red) Frostbyte tried to install one of our Kasa HS200 Single-Pole switches and was getting a Java error, which my engineering team indicated the app failed to communicate with the device. If you can please look at this thread along with the information Frostbyte provided and see if you can think of anything electrical that could be causing the concern. I would just like to rule that out and you two are far more versed in this than I am.
@Frostbyte It could be a network issue at the location. to test that put your cell phone on 2.4GHz and then stand next to the switch. If your phone has a poor signal that could point to this being a communication issue. Lastly for that right switch, if its like the wiring at my home that switch is actually tied to a outlet in that room and turns that outlet on and off. Here in Henderson those outlets are upside down to show which ones are controlled. In California it was a trial and error, but if nothing happens when you pull that switch that is likely what it controls.
