With or without Tapo Care, you should be able to see your cameras from the Tapo App, anywhere you are - home or away, and without the need for VPNs or Remote Desktops into your home network.

If you are having difficulties viewing the cameras from away from home, it is likely that the cameras lost their connection to the internet/cloud and may just need to be replugged. Another option could be to use one of our official integrations such as Google Home, SmartThings, or Alexa as these will also work while away from home - albeit slower.
