Model: Deco M5
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.7.8 Build 20240719

I have 6 Deco M5's, in router mode, in a 2-story home. Three V1's and three V3's. The main and one other on the first floor. Three strategically placed on the second floor. Since the upgrade 11/8/2024 WiFi has been completely unstable. Devices are constantly going on and off line and/or not coming back online, at all. Signal strength is poor even when close to one of the M5's. But the app continues to say everything is perfect. WiFi Optimizer also says everything is perfect. This is not a new installation. This has been in place for over 3 years without any issues.

Update 1: Rollback attempt failed.

Update 2: 7 months to the day everything starts miraculously working normally. Very frustrating.

@HelpFixDecoApp Although the issue has improved, I am still experiencing devices randomly dropping off the network. I would still like to understand how, after 7 months of significant instability, suddenly most of the issues magically resolved.

My best guess? Is that you had another wireless network near you that was causing network interference and they either moved or switched to a different WiFi channel and that is  why the problem got better.

But the fact that it's still going on is an issue let me see if one of the tp-link staff has any ideas on this.

Thanks for your reply. Unlikely given the remote location of the installation. Not to mention it 100% started after the firmware upgrade. The current randomness of disconnects is significantly less. More of a nuisance now than a major issue.

Sorry to hear you've had a less than stellar experience following the last firmware update.

Which hardware version are you using as your main Deco - V1 or V2? Since V1 and V2 don't share the same firmware platform/version, the one designated as your Main Deco could be playing a role.

Great question. I am not sure. I will have to check that. Won't be able to handle that for some time.
