Seems like it could be easy to add a default position after X amount of minutes. After following the dog around the backyard and lost him it will just sit there, any way to have it go back to a default position after a minute or 2? I tried setting just 1 viewpoint in Pan & Tilt section and also in the Patrol section and nothing, just sits there looking at the grass.

Hi,
For the Tapo Pan & Tilt camera, when it has Motion Tracking/Auto Tracking enabled, the camera's default position is where it starts tracking the event. Generally, after tracking an event, the camera will return to its default position after 30 seconds if no new events are detected.

  @Solla-topee Where? I hit the device settings and then Auto tracking I have noptions there. Just a generic view of 2 kids and some options for tracking.

Hi,
You can follow these steps to set the default position for your camera:

 

  1. Go to the camera's Device Settings > Detection > Auto Tracking page, and select Never Track. Or go to the Motion Tracking page to turn it off.
  2. On the camera's Live View page, tap Pan & Tilt and adjust the camera lens to the desired position you want to set as the default.
  3. Next, go back to the Detection > Motion Tracking/Auto Tracking page and enable the Track feature. The default position for tracking will now be the position you set in the Live View page.
