Model: Tapo C211
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.2

Or am I doing something wrong? I set a privacy zone for the corner of the room we usually sit. But when the camera pans to the door about 90-100 degrees away, or anywhere for that matter, the privacy zone goes with it and the door is blocked. It's as if the privacy zone is essentially painting a black bar across the camera lens itself.

Motion detection is another issue. I set the activity zone to exclude a ceiling fan, but once the camera pans, such as when it detects a person, it's attention is grabbed by the ceiling fan it locks on and never lets go, no matter then motion of any people in the room.

That makes this camera pretty useless, in my opinio, and no point in keeping it.

Unless again, I am doing something wrong.

Ok, and now as I go to post, it's wants me enter a model number. My Camera is C217, but according to this site, that model doesn't exist and I had to choose C211.  I don't know enough about the various models to if this is just some variation based on color, etc, but it's not doing much to instill faith in this company or product.

Hi,
Thank you for your feedback. On the Pan & Tilt camera, the Privacy Zone and Detection Zone will shift as the camera lens moves, which may affect the user experience. It's recommended to keep the camera's viewpoint fixed when using these features. If you need to monitor multiple areas while maintaining accurate privacy and detection control, using multiple cameras may be a more stable solution.

Regarding the feedback about the absence of the Tapo C217 model in the community, I'll log it and forward it to the relevant department for adding the model.

Best Regards

Thanks for your response. However, I do not feel that "buy more camers" is a feasible solution. I would have to put two to three cameras side by side to acheive what one camera should be able to do effectively.

Unless you are unable to due to software or programming limitations, I would suggest updating the program to have the privacy zone not shift withe camera.

I have enough coverage with the outdoor cameras I have (also Tapos, and they're great), but with the P&T cameras priced at (price redacted-against posting rules) for the two pack, it seemed reasonable enough to add. Unfortunately, due to this limitation, I will be returning the P&T cams. I will watch foir future products that meet my needs.
