We've had no recordings or Notifications for the last 7.5 hours. 

 

We have this doorbell for security reasons and this is leaving us without knowing if anyone is trespassing or prowling on our property. There have been no notifications or emails about this to my knowledge.

There was a widespread outage affecting Amazon's AWS Servers. This outage lasted for quite a long time and impacted a large number of services and devices - beyond just Tapo.

If you experienced any abnormal or unexpected behaviors, difficulty setting devices up, no notifications, or even trouble logging in, it was likely a result of this outage.

 

Any recordings that were made locally, meaning to a local tapo hub or the camera's SD Card will have continued -- It was only the Cloud Recordings and Functions that were impacted.

  @Nerdgasm same thing happened to my camera which has tapo care subscription, but my other camera which has sd card isn't affected. so i think it's their cloud service has some issues?

  @2wordz that's possible, we don't have a SD card in it. I know that aws outage caused a large issue for many companies, wonder if it's related. 

 

I also emailed tech support and got an AI response from the. I replied with additional information. I'll reply here again with any new information.
