Bought a 2 Pack C113 from Amazon, and set up one of the cameras. I couldnt help but notice the soft focus and blurry text on a box in the video feed. I took out the second camera and hooked it up directly beside the first one and the picture was noticeably sharper. I could read the same text easily. I ordered single C113 to replace the out of focus one from the two pack and can confirm its focus was sharper as well. 

 

How are cameras focused in the factory and why are there discrepancies? I returned a C120 in the past for the same reason. Pictures are cropped, screenshots from the app on my phone. All cameras set to 2K resolution

Hi, 
The Focal Length of a Tapo camera is fixed, and you can find this info on the camera's Specifications page on our official website.

Based on the provided images, "Soft focus C113" is slightly closer to the box with text. Perhaps you could try slightly adjusting its position to see if that helps.

It is "closer" by maybe 2 inches or the space it takes for it to sit right next the another. It is a negligible difference with the camera pointed at those lengths. The box text, door, dog are well beyond inches apart yet all out of focus. The rug is uniformly blurry through its length. I've now moved the replacement into the same position and the image is still sharper. Will be returning the faulty one.

 

There are posts of people opening tapo cameras to adjust the focal length, so this is something that is set at the factory before assembly.
