Model: Deco XE75
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 1.3.0

I have setup my XE75 today and it is working marvelously for my main devices (Tower PC, Laptops, Tablets, Phones) but it has been awful for my IOT devices (Google homes, Nest Doorbell, Google Cameras)

They are all on the IOT network that has the same SSID as my last guest network that I was utilizing as my IOT network when I was using my Google Nest Pro 6E router. They are able to connect, but the connection is inconsistent. When they are connected, loading is cumbersome and it takes 10-15s to connect to devices.

I have taken some steps such as turning off Beamforming, reserving static IPs for all my Google Home devices facing connection issues, and updating the Security on my IoT network to WPA2 only. The last change actually made the issue much worse in a matter of about an hour, so I reverted that change.

Nothing has consistently helped since I started tinkering withb things.

Doing a bit of research that may be dated, there seems to have been a beta firmware that allowed for a narrower 2.4ghz band to try to resolve some of those issues. Is this still the case?

Would appreciate any suggestions that you have to resolving these issues - the consistency that I am seeing on my main devices has been a great boon, but the issues with my google devices is leading me to want to return this if there isn't a solid solution.

  @hunterledet

Hi, welcome to the community.

I've left a message with a beta firmware for Deco XE75 Pro_1.3.0.

It is recommended to test whether this version helps.

Wait for your reply.

Best regards.

Re:XE75 Pro issues with Google Home Devices
Thursday

  @David-TP Hi David,

Thanks so much for the reply. I thought I had resolved the issue on my end after 24hrs and seeing the issues seem to resolve, but they keep coming back.

I realized when I was going through the installation (before actually performing the upgrade) that I have the XE75, not the XE75 Pro.

Can you please verify if the link you sent me will work, or if I should need a new link specifically for the XE75 non-pro variant?

Looking in tplinkdeco.net, I can see the hardware version is  XE75(3.0) for all 3 of my APs.

Thanks again.

Re:XE75 Pro issues with Google Home Devices
Yesterday

  @David-TP just wanted to follow up and say that after digging around and coming to the conclusion that the XE75 was not as supported as the XE75 Pro, I returned my XE75 and purchased an XE75 Pro.

That installation was a breeze and after installing the beta firmware you sent me, everything is working great!

Even noticing less latency when accessing live camera feeds from my Google Home app.

However, I did notice that there is a more recent firmeware upgrade for the XE75 Pro dated for October 2025.

Would you suggest upgrading to that assuming that the beta firmware you sent me is included, or would you suggest just sticking to my current firmware and taking more of a "if it works don't fix it" approach?

Would appreciate your pointers here!
