Model: Tapo C113
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.4

There is a daily event that I capture on my C113 that lasts from 15 minutes to 90 minutes. I'd like to create a single, continuous video and save it to my PC. My choices now are:

  • Save lots of 3-minute videos one-by-one, which is very time consuming. Stitch them all together with other tools.
  • Save a couple of 10-minute videos, stitch them together and trim.

Here are the issues and requests:

  • I can only select one 3-minute and download it at a time. The ability to select multiple 3-minute videos and download them rather than one at a time would be helpful.
  • I can select a 10-minute range and download it, but the selection is not precise, making it difficult to match precisely the end of one video with the beginning of another, making stitching nearly impossible without a gap or overlap. And if you select exactly 10 minutes, the app insists that it be shorter than 10 minutes such as 9:59. The ability to select exact segments would be helpful.
  • In general, it would be wonderful to store the videos on the SD card already segmented and with audio. I can download a 30-minute video from the SD card, but there is no audio.

Thanks for your consideration

Hi,
1. In the Tapo app > camera's Device Settings > Storage & Recording page, if the Record Sound option is enabled, the camera will record video and audio to the SD card.

2. Usually, you can refer to the instructions below to view the camera's live feed on a PC. Then you can check whether the third-party app you used supports storing video recordings on a PC. If so, you may configure the relevant storage settings on the third-party app directly without downloading the video recordings from the SD card.

1. I do have the Record Sound option enabled. However, the video recordings on the SD card are approximately 30 minutes long and do not include sound. Evidently, sound is added to clips when downloaded from the app only.

2. Having a third party app always running ona PC is also inconvenient, but I will try it.

Selecting multiple 3-minute clips from the app would be the most expedient solution without major changes to the SD card file system.

Hi,
1. Usually, if the Record Sound option is enabled, the manually downloaded video clip and the videos stored on the SD card will both have sound if you can hear sound in the Tapo app > camera's live view page.

If not, please provide the following information for further analysis.
  1) Refer to the instructions below to set your camera to record video continuously.
How can I store the Tapo camera video recordings on a microSD card
  2) On the camera's live view page, if you can hear the sound from the camera side, please record the video manually in the Tapo app.
  3) Go to the camera's Playback > SD card page to download the same video recording, and then test if they both have sound. If not, please send us the two videos.

You can upload the videos to your cloud server (such as Google Drive) or YouTube, generate a download link, and send it to me (@Solla-topee) via a private message.

2. Regarding the feature request for bulk downloading of camera detection video clips, it's recommended to vote and leave your usage scenario in this thread "Bulk download of camera clips" for evaluation.

Best Regards
