To properly reset the camera, you need to hold the reset button down for around 10 seconds until it flashes red several times fast and the camera's voice says "Reset Complete". The instructions on the website are too vague – if you hold the button down for ~5 seconds the light will flash red, and then go on to flash green and red. The website says when the light flashes green and red it means the reset has been successful, however, this is not sufficient. You must hold the reset button down until the voice command says the reset has been completed and the light flashes red several times FAST. I hope this saves others some time troubleshooting!
