The Auto White feature has great potential, but lacks versatility and flexibility.

Currently, the Auto White feature automatically adjusts color temperature and brightness throughout the day. This is only good for one type of uncommon use—always dim in the morning and night, and always bright in between. "Circadian."

I'm requesting the ability to manually change the brightness while still maintaining the strength of the feature's namesake.. Auto White. Simply automatically adjust the color temperature only.

This can be implemented by adding a pencil icon onto the Auto White button that is revealed by the first tap. When the pencil is tapped, a bar at the bottom can be revealed with a toggle for "Auto adjust brightness" that the user can then switch off. This should, of course, be per each bulb and not globally for all bulbs.

Surely I cannot be the only user wanting my bulb to auto-adjust color temp while still being able to have something like 10% brightness in the morning, 100% during all day, then 75% in the last 20 minutes of my night. This should be allowed, otherwise this feature is useless for most.

Thanks for the feedback @jcsosia,

I know that the feature was initially developed for circadian automations, but I am sure our teams are more than willing to hear you out. I don't think I have seen this request before, honestly.

I will mention that, with the way that the lights work, the actual lumen-output of a light will change depending on the color temperature, with both the high and low ends producing less light than a mid-range temperature. This also means that a customized brightness for the feature may not appear to work as you have set and may need a feature to build out a custom curve.

Nevertheless, I will make sure to forward the request to our teams, as I can definitely see how increased control of these features can dramatically improve the experience
