The specs show that it does support access point mode. You should be able to use that.

Others have reported issues with the way the drive is formated and the other issue reported is the drive draws to much power from the router. Try using a powered hub.

@Steve_B63 one thing to check is to see what dns you are using. It could be blocking it. Another may be the firewall. Try changing the settings. Also bypass the router and connect direct to the modem...
