Accepted DoH (DNS over HTTPS) support for Deco
Synology recently added support for DoH to their range of routers (https://blog.synology.com/dns-over-https/). This is a feature I would like to see on the TP-Link Deco range of routers as well. Is such an implementation planned?

@Kevin_Z Is it possible to add this to the "consider to implement list"? As I think this would be a great feature to improve users security.

The Deco does not support DNS over https now, while we have noted that, and we will keep an eye on this kind of request.
With a certain amount of feedback, we will be able to remind our R&D team with the statstics and let them evaluate the feasibility to add this feature.
It may take some time, you can keep an eye on official website or contact us for further information.
Good day.

@Kevin_Z Any news on this from the dev department?

Sorry to tell you that there is no update yet.
There is not much similar feedback recieved yet, so the priority is lower than other features.
We will keep an eye on it; and any updates, we will let you know and will post on the official website.
Wish your kindly understanding.

The feature would be a good USP for the brand.
Quad9 seems to have a good and secure service.
Never Settle! ;)

Any news on this from the dev department? I would love to have this function or I'm switching to Netgear soon when I'm buying new mesh router.

I'm very interested in the DoH feature. DNS over HTTPS allows advanced capabilities, especially when combined with an external service:
- Privacy from ISP snooping (confidentiality)
- Removes the ISP from the trust chain for DNS (integrity)
- Category based content filtering, traffic monitoring, and blacklist/whitelisting of traffic that exceeds Deco capabilities (this is difficult to do without DoH when you're on a dynamic IP)
Cisco Umbrella and Cloudflare Teams are examples of companion products. This feature opens enhanced market opportunities with the "Work from Home" crowd.
