Powerline kit need to be plugged into wall sockets (not power board or power strip) to pair to each other, you could consider models with Pass-through feature if your house lacks of wall power sockets.
Passthough model vs non-Passthrough model, the main difference is the power socket.

Please check the model / description, if the kits are both AV1300 kit, then they have the same speed.
