  @Hansok-_1955

Hi,
As you can see on the top right corner of the Installation Guide for the Tapo C500, if you mount the camera upside down, it's not waterproof.

On the Tapo app>Camera Settings page of the Tapo C500, you can enable the 'Invert Image' to see an upside-down image on the Live View page.

Best Regards

  @Hansok-_1955 I think it won't waterproof if you place it upside down. This phenomenon was mentioned in the Tapo C510W page.

Because C500 and C510W has the almost same design, so I think it will not waterproof.

  @Solla-topee

It seems pointless to me to put IP65 waterproof then! We are not. Write that it is not waterproof and that it IS NOT IP65!

We need to be serious.

Thanky

  @Luciano1960 the camera needs to be placed correctly, not upside down.
Placing upside down have risks for the water to go inside the cam, but not always happens, they advised you to install it the right way to prevents some cases that the water is in the cam.
BUT, the camera is not waterproof, it is weather proof, no one would place their camera under the water.

  @NguyenKhoi

Thanks for the reply
But I would never put the C500 in water but I've never written it either but if you sell an IP65 product, you have to give me guarantees that however I turn the camera the water will be kept away from me, maybe that's not the case.
Then don't sell it with IP65!
This is the problem, if I turn it I have to have the same guarantees as if it were straight.
And are we talking about the gaskets? do you want to tell me that they don't work if I turn the room around?
Sorry but technology today is 2023, and we're talking about decent technology at good prices that also offer guarantees.
I would say that "IP65" should be reviewed, at least for me who bought a product for which the brand is a guarantee. TP-Link I have known for 15 years. And not ez**iz or other rub** ish
I thank you,. But I would like to continue to have faith in you.

  @Luciano1960 as a customer and reseller, I'm just sharing what I know about it.
The C500 ingress protection rating is IP65, only when you install it the right way. Because it only resists water flowing from the top, so TP-Link made a mounting base that has 3 ways to mount. Placing it upside down when it's raining won't water-damaged the camera instantly, but due to the design, if the rain stopped there's still water under the camera's tilt ball. But you know, Tapo is definitely has a good water resistant, comparing to Imou, Ezviz (Pan Tilt cameras and also fixed cameras) since I don't have any water-damaged camera cases reported from my customer.
