Model: Tapo T110
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: Any

I have been using the Tapo contact and motion sensors for a variety of home automations and security notifications, but am running into a bit of a road block with the app, and think it would be amazing if we could implement some of these features.

Ability to set different notification modes based on groups.

Let's say for multiple locations...

If I am at my office, be able to turn off notifications for my office as doors/windows are opened, and motion is detected.

If I am at home, be able to turn on notifications for my office (see above), and turn off notifications for my contact and motion sensors at home.

If I am home and want perimter security (contact sensors) only, to disable the notifications from my motion sensors.  But I still want to receive all notifications from my office...

Basically, it would be amazing if I could create different device groups, setup multiple notification modes within those groups, with an easy way to turn on/off these notification modes...

I hope I am am clearly communicating my wishes for this.  And if this is already available, it would be great if someone could give me an idea how to configure and implement this...

Thanks,

The notifications from the sensor itself (which can be enabled in the product device settings) cannot be controlled through automation.

However, you can use automation to send customized notifications. You might consider using this method to meet your needs:

1. Create an automation for each individual sensor or group of sensors to send notifications when the sensor is triggered. E.g. When T100 motion detected, Then send notification "Front door movement detected".
2. Set up geofencing automation to enable or disable specific automation based on your departure from or arrival at a location.
3. If you temporarily do not want to receive notifications from the sensor, you can manually disable the automation in the Tapo app, or use shortcuts to enable or disable multiple automation with a single click.
